Our Forest school session this half term was somewhat warmer than the previous one. The children began with a child initiated session. The climbed, built, ran and problem solved. After snack the children did a short directed session, Nursery and Year 1 looked for mini-beasts and were able to identify some by name and describe some of their features, Reception did a Math session incorporating counting natural resources and using them to make shapes.
Year 2 were able to incorporate their recent learning about the Stone Age, they acted out hunting and building fires using the resources around them. A very purposeful and cross curricular learning opportunity.
