Buddy Day

The Y2 and Y3 classes are Buddies for this year and we decided to plant a flower and work on writing a poem about summer flowers together. The children helped each other re-port the plants in biodegradable pots and we discussed the meaning and importance of biodegradable pots as opposed to plastic ones.

Each plant will, hopefully, bloom and provide joy and happy memories throughout the summer when the children are on holiday and give them something to do dead-heading their plants.

The previous terms we have focused on writing, especially poetry. They worked in mixed ability / mixed year groups for the task (as they had before). This is also Cross Curricular Science.
